Samsung GT-i7500; Samsungs first Android smartphone? (update)

Samsung is virtually the only producer of mobile phones that is not holding on to one operating system. We therefore just had to wait for the first Android device of the Koreans. And it has arrived; the i7500.

It does not appear to be the S8000 according to images the::unwired got their hands on, but the i7500. A touchscreen candybar device without keyboard. That can only mean one thing: it needs the Android version 1.5. This version is the first that can deal with a virtual keyboard.

The device is exclusively meant for O2 customers in Germany and it gets available this June. We can therefore also conclude that the Android version 1.5 (Cupcake) also gets available for consumers.

Among the specs: 3.2 inch touchscreen, 3G internet possibilities, 8 GB internal memory + the possibility to add an extra microSD memory card. WiFi and GPS are also not missing. The built-in camera is probably having 5 megapixels.

Update: Samsung officially announced the i7500 last monday morning!
