Aster pilosus (Hairy Aster)
This specimen of Hairy Aster show the long slender stem leaves that have hairs along their edges, giving the plant its name. The bracts on the flower head stalks are tiny and needle-like.
Hairy Aster blooms with white flower heads about one-half inch wide from late summer to fall. It grows in disturbed areas and pastures.
