Spanish Oak on the property of Mount Stewart Gardens, Newtownards, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom

This page contains specific information about Spanish Oak (Quercus × hispanica), 'Diversifolia' '13235', which can be found on the property of Mount Stewart Gardens in Newtownards (county of Down).

20 aug. 13: My question at the National Trust / Mount Stewart Garden about the species of this Oak, some weeks ago, was discussed in the ?Gardener?s Bothy?, this leads to double check with an expert who specializes in Quercus at the Botanic Gardens in Belfast (including sending leaves). The tree should be Q. x hispanica ?Diversifolia?. Thanks to NT.

The girth of the tree, measured at a height of 1.30 m, is 4.97 m (Jun 7, 2013, Maarten Windemuller). Its height is exactly 12.80 m (Jun 8, 2013, Laser with Two-point measurement (e.g. Nikon Forestry 550/Pro) - sine method, Maarten Windemuller).

The tree is a specimen of the cultivar Quercus × hispanica 'Diversifolia'.
