Comedian Eddie Griffin to perform at the Kalamazoo State Theatre

Comedian Eddie Griffin will perform on April 26 at the Kalamazoo State Theatre.

The Kansas City, Mo.-born Griffin started his comedy career in 1990 and by 1992 appeared on Russell Simmons' "Def Comedy Jam" and the HBO special "One Night Stand." His career soon expanded to include TV and movies.

In addition standup albums, he's also appeared on TV, including for four seasons on "Malcolm and Eddie," and in several films, including starring in "Undercover Brother" in 2002.

Griffin's Comedy Central special "You Can Tell 'Em I Said It" aired on Feb. 19, 2011.

Last summer, he played in David E. Talbert's play "A Fool and His Money." He also was the voice of Richard Pryor for the Adult Swim animated series "Black Dynamite."

He's also slated to star in the comedy, "Mucho Dinero," due out later this year.

Griffin will perform at 8 p.m. April 26. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8. They are $49 for Gold Circle, $35 for main floor, $30 for mezzanine and $25 for the balcony.
