1. LaToya Jackson was born May 29th 1965 in Gary, Indiana. She's the fifth child in a family of nine children. 

Most famous members of her family include her brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael Jackson of the Jackson 5, singer Janet Jackson and American Idol judge Randy.

Most of the family including LaToya have enjoyed musical successes earning them the nickname 'the first royal family of popular music'.

2. Although not as famous as some of her siblings, LaToya's musical success includes her debut album Feel the Funk which made into The Top 40 of the R&B chart and her single Hearts Don't Lie made it to number 56 in 1984 as well as making it into the Top 20 in Europe with her hit Sexbox.

La Toya also provided the opening scream on her brothers' hit This Place Hotel

3. La Toya has caused controversy by twice posing for Playboy. Her first cover was on of the most successful issues in Playboy's history selling over 8 million copies at its time of release. 

Her family publicly condemned the modeling but La Toya later said it had been the pressure from her abusive husband at the time Jack Gordon.

4. During her years of marriage to manager Jack Gordon she became estranged from her family, speaking out publicly about her family a number of times.

During one interview she speaks about the demise of brother Michael Jackson's marriage to Lisa Marie Presley claiming the whole marriage was a sham.

5. In 1991 she wrote a book 'La Toya: Growing up in The Jackson Family' accusing her father of of physical and verbal abuse. 

Things came to a head and reached an all time low for family relations when she accused her father of sexual abuse against her sister live on the Donahue Show.

6. Things began looking up for La Toya when she was paid a large salary to join the Paris Moulin Rouge for a year and landed her first acting role on the TV series Counterstrike.

7. La Toya suffered a difficult few years when she saw her career nose-dive and continued making allegations about her family. In 1993 she went public saying she believed her brother was a danger to children. In 1996 she made headlines again after being savagely beaten by her husband with a metal chair.

She divorced him in 1997 after being rescued by brother Randy.

8. In 2004 La Toya appeared on The Frank Skinner show explaining the reasons for one minute publicly condemning her brother Michael Jackson saying he may be a threat to children and the next supporting him.

9. La Toya's renewed success continued with a brand new single Just Wanna Dance becoming a Billboard Dance/Club top 20 hit in 2004 followed by another success with single Free the World

At the end of 2007 she released another single I Don't Play That.

10. Poor La Toya was voted 11th worst artist ever by US magazine Blender although after her performance on CBB's showcase task it may not surprise that many people
