Location: Sainte-Maxime, France

Price: €1.32 million (US$1.4 million)

This provincial-style villa on the French Riviera offers easy access to La Nartelle beach, a swimming pool, a garden, a rooftop terrace and a studio.

“It’s a little bit old style,” said listing agent Layan Mahshi, of Finlay Brewer International. “People who like French Provincial will like this villa.”

The three-level home, which was built in 1986, has been a popular rental this summer, going for €7,000 a week, she said.

In the off-season, it would likely rent for somewhere between €3,500 and €4,000 a week, Mahshi said. “It’s just five minutes from La Nartelle beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the area.”

“There is a huge terrace on the top level where you can enjoy a few drinks and the sun,” she said.

The ground floor holds a studio connected to the main part of the house but which can be completely independent, a garage, a workshop and a cellar, according to the listing. Upstairs there is an entry hall with a closet, a large living room, a dining room, a kitchen and an office that can serve as a third bedroom.

“From the living room, sliding glass doors open to a huge garden and access to the swimming pool,” she said. A corridor from the living room leads to a small reading room and two bedrooms that share a bathroom.

The top level holds the fourth bedroom and the rooftop terrace.
