Helleborus niger 'Praecox'

Common Name: 'Christmas rose'

A clump-forming-perennial with large, white, sometimes pink-flushed, flowers above low, semi-evergreen dark green foliage. This cultivar flowers earlier than the species, 'Praecox' meaning 'very early'. Nov-Feb. H30cm S30cm.

Care Instructions

Thrives in neutral to alkaline soils that are moist, fertile and humus-rich, ideal for heavy clay in partial shade. Mulch annually in autumn. Pretty planted with snowdrops or other spring-flowering bulbs.
