This West Australian native is a lovely showy shrub that grows 1 - 3m tall x 1 - 2.5m wide, the bright green leaves are oval shaped, 10mm long and and the spectacular flowers are orange to red, occurring in clusters at the ends of branches in Summer to Autumn and Spring.
 
Best grown in full sun to part shade in well drained soil, it is tolerant of drought and light frost.
 
Makes a lovely garden specimen, looking very much at home in a cottage garden setting, is low maintenance, can be used for erosion control, as a feature, cut flower, bird attracting for feeding and nesting, attracts butterflies, bees and other insects.
 
This is not common in cultivation but should be, it is a lovely shrub but does prefer to be grown in areas with low humidity and Summer rainfall othersie they do tend to be short lived.
Naturally found growing in swampy areas and on river banks so appreciates supplementary watering.
