Why a Quality Visual Presentation Matters.

I cannot stress the importance of tasteful, rich imagery and proper typography for business (Keynote + Powerpoint) presentations. Obtaining the right graphics, photos, embedded videos or icons, along with a clean, uncluttered layout will get your business stats or promotional messages across more effectively and attractively. Nothing is more boring and uninspiring than a flat, "Powerpoint-y" presentation with typical color usage and banal techniques. It may take a little more time but it's worth it, not only for business development, but for information retention.

If you opt for a presentation with animations, they should flow and make sense, as they "wake up" the viewer, separate ideas, they can give the effect of a moving image (if done well) and can often be an exciting way to emphasize talking points and elevate your brand and/or company's business cred while increasing your ROI.
