It’s been such a pleasure creating a show with IGN Entertainment dedicated to making some indie game developer dreams. Rogue Jam will air on IGN throughout April. Rogue Games, Inc.
Did we fool ya?
Every year, IGN Entertainment goes out of their way to have a little fun and make an April Fool's video, and this year, I think we really outdid ourselves.
With barely two weeks to prep, shoot, and edit this concept, we were able to take the premise of Nintendo announcing the 25+ year follow up to their Virtual Boy AR device, pretending that they're getting in on the AR/VR train.
The best part of this wasn't that we fooled some - even for a moment - or that the response has been exceptionally positive, but for me personally, the greatest compliment has been that people thought it was a Nintendo-specific April Fools joke, which, working as the cinematographer on this project, it's maybe the best thing I've heard about our execution.
Made on a shoe-string budget, with only roughly 5 people any given day during the shoot, this thing was a miracle of a production, and all glory goes to Kevin Cappiello as the lead producer/director/editor on the video for his vision and follow-through. On the back end, there were so many hands involved in making sure this felt like the real thing from a content-perspective that it's near impossible to name them all, suffice to say, all hands involved did their jobs flawlessly and with fervent excitement.
A real testament to my personal philosophy that excitement begets excitement for projects, and the more you can get folks behind good ideas, the better the product.
Thanks to all involved, and I can't wait to share more in the future!

Francesca is a stellar producer and writer, and believe me when I say that any team would benefit immensely with her on board. Her experience and passion is without comparison.
After nearly 7 years, your girl is looking for a new role as a producer, project manager, or in event production and would appreciate your support! IGN has equipped me with the confidence and excitement of working with teams to pull off truly impressive projects and events. Always looking forward to learning new experiences!
Thank you in advance for any connections, advice, or opportunities you can offer. #OpenToWork
Got bored this weekend. Decided to update the ol' Producer/Director demo reel. Kind of proud of it, and honestly, it's always motivating to look back on the work you've done and realize that it was all worth the journey and work. Makes me want to keep making more.
Anyway, this is a fun one. Hope you enjoy.

Okay, this was one of the coolest things I’ve been able to help put together at IGN Entertainment as a Director of Photography. We had the opportunity to work with VIZIO in coordination with CI Games and HEXWORKS for their release of Lords of The Fallen, and I was able to really stretch our creative muscles between the use of color, set design, and the use of our tracking system for camera.
The team and myself were able to collaborate and coordinate on scripting, design, direction, and crew, putting this all together in roughly a week’s time, which really goes to show the level of professionalism the folks at IGN and our freelancers have to offer. Thank you to our team and the folks over at 1TwentyFour (A division of IGN Entertainment) for this fun opportunity, and I really hope we can get to do a lot more like this in the future.
Also, not to brag, but no, none of the product shots were CG. Just good ol’ fashioned cinema 😉.

For those of you who've been following all of the hubbub around the GTA VI trailer drop, I've gotta tell ya, all of my colleagues over at IGN Entertainment were at the top of their game on Monday after the unfortunate leak of the trailer, prompting Rockstar to release their official trailer early. From about 2:45 in the afternoon, we found out that the trailer might drop soon, and at 3:07 pm, we were up and out with a live reaction show.
That kind of ability to flip a switch and turn on a dime is no small feat, and I've got to give it to everyone on the team who were able to pivot, shift, and roll with the punches as they came along, writing scripts in real time, mic'ing up talent, lighting, and getting a #livestream up and running in what is effectively a split second in the #production world.
Great work to everyone involved, and I'm so infinitely proud of our ability to make really cool stuff like that happen when needed at a moment's notice. Everyone deserves an immense pat on the back for that one.
Recently had the incredible opportunity to talk about my last #film, Black Hole on the discoverindiefilm.com#podcast where I got to chat about what it took to build and create the admittedly ambitious #sci-fi special effects - amongst other things such as storytelling and philosophy - for our ultra low-budget #shortfilm.
This short went on to win multiple awards at film festivals across the world, and was eventually picked up by the amazing folks over at Gunpowder & Sky for their #dust#youtube channel, which goes to show that with a little ingenuity, some great friends, and a solid script, you can say and make a whole lot out of a whole bit of nothing.
You can listen to the whole podcast episode on your platform of choice at https://lnkd.in/gtHHQBXi where I talk about what it took to become a #screenwriter and #director as a kid who had nothing growing up, and how death and existentialism can inform great positivity and a grand sense of our place here on this Earth. Oh, and I guess also #movie things as well.
Enjoy, my friends!
Got to chat with Mike Chaves about the scariest moments from The Conjuring universe ahead of The Nun II’s release.
Had a blast, huge thanks to Marhyan Franzen & Jamie Parslow for their studio help on this one 🥳

This is still one of the absolute coolest, most surreal things I’ve ever helped put together, and having the opportunity to chat with the team at Unreal Engine and Epic Games as well as the folks who make #themandalorian was cool enough. But then to #direct a scene on stage with the help of Baz Idoine, was something truly special. Here’s one part of our two part look at the Volumetric space being used for movies and TV.
