This week I was in Tokyo with the Calcalist כלכליסט team celebrating the relationship between Israel and Japan. Here is a snippet of what I said to the crowd: “As we all know, Israel has earned a reputation as a Startup Nation - fostering an exciting cluster of companies representing the 0-1 of their life cycles. At the same time, Japan is famous for fostering businesses in the long term, and highly efficient at taking those companies from 1-100. As of 2019, Japan has 33,000 businesses over 100 years old, leading in industries such as robotics, electronics, and automotive. Israel has 10,000 startups - the third highest in the world. Today symbolizes how two countries with different strengths can come together to achieve something greater than the sum of their parts.” Thanks to everyone who came out and to those who hosted us. We are excited to return next year!
