For the longest time I never shared the film accolades I received because I identified as a Woman in STEM primarily. Most of my contacts were in the tech space. Unless you work in one of the jobs that marries both disciplines, being multidisciplinary is a confusing proposition when it comes to sharing the journey or learning. As an entreprenuer now, I have renewed thoughts - "hard work must be recognized". A heartwarming mini-doc animation, Got Cancer! Survivors Journey that I chanced upon during the pandemic, became a finalist at the Rare Disease Film Festival 2021 by Centogene - a world leader in the field of genetic diagnostics for rare diseases. https://lnkd.in/gaizZKC One of those rare times, I came in towards the last stages of production, as voice-over director and associate producer. The director is the mighty hearted and talented Rohini Hak, a filmmaker from LA. Just like angel investing is so critical in the startup world, executive production is important to nurture independent filmmakers who go above and beyond to capture important narratives of the society. Once I witnessed the struggles of the non-fiction filmmaking world particularly, I went on to executive producing several others that are work in progress. Proud of the the team.

Wrapped up our first Augmented/Virtual Reality FREE #Webinar, “From Gaming to Life - The Rise of Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality”, on Saturday, February 6, 2021. 45 middle, high school, and college students attending from U.S. Egypt, Kenya, India, and Indonesia. A middle schooler got excited after our session, he created an AR app to measure social distancing safe space. Medical students from India were most excited with speaker Irina's overview of the AR/VR use in the healthcare field. The Egyptian high school students were enlivened by expert Rahul’s advice to stay curious if they wanted to enter the AR/VR/MR career field. And a few middle and high school students asked whether host Abhi will give a course on how to create an AR app for real. We were all intrigued by Rahul’s overview on the Top 10 Strategic Prediction of Mixed Reality, and wish that there will be future AR/VR webinars with these experts again ! Thank you to host Abhi Saxena and guest speakers Irina Groysman and Rahul Avasthy. Thank you to Team SSF Ansh Gupta, Saif Abd El-Fattah, Evan Zhang, and CEO Latha Narayannan. Stay tuned for our #augmentedreality / #virtualreality / #mixedreality camp!
