Aluminum Age Lawnmower Converted to Industrial Art I must make the choice of taking an engine and cutting assembly from a new American-made lawnmower and using them to restore a 1950-60s Craftsman lawnmower or stripping the lawnmower down to its aluminum essence to display as a piece of Industrial Art. Installing the engine from the new $150 lawnmower on the Craftsman, "hotroding it" is less expensive than installing any engine that I can buy and would allow me to make a working machine out of the old relic and honor my late brother-in-law on Memorial Day by cutting his lawn with a lawnmower that he once owned. However personally satisfying this might have been, I made the more rational choice of stripping the steel parts from the craftsman and making it into a piece of Industrial Art to represent the Aluminum Age when it seemed everything was being made from this new wonder metal. Such items included cups, automobile parts, furniture, and even engine blocks made of stronger and harder aluminum alloys. Old aluminum lawnmower bodies have now become collectible, like hubcaps, to represent this era and are typically used to decorate outdoor equipment storage buildings. This lawnmower body could be repainted its original red color, but, if so, its value would be depreciated. I intend to sell this for the best offer over $85 plus shipping and the old engine plus other salvaged parts for $35 plus shipping to anyone who has an interest in them. Please send me an e-mail to hoveysmith@bellsouth.net.

Here is a 1968 vinyl 45 rpm record from the The Outcasts. When it arrived to our lab, the label had a 2 1/2" piece of pressure-sensitive woven tape attached to it. Over time, the woven tape discolored the black paper label, leaving behind a dark stain and compromising its overall appearance. Additionally, the adhesive residue further deteriorated the label's condition. To restore the label's appearance, a soft brush was used to gently clean the surface, removing any dirt or debris that had accumulated over the years. The woven tape was then carefully removed, taking extra precautions to avoid causing any damage to the label. Finally, any remaining traces of adhesive residue were reduced, ensuring that the label's original design was restored. . . . 1552 COMPOSITION versus CONFIGURATION -by Gautam Shah https://lnkd.in/dKgbAUmT A Composition is conscious arrangement of the same or different elements where geometry, structure or pattern, is implied or recognized within an occurrence or observation. A Configuration comes into being, after the definition of a form or shape, whereas the composition can emerge irrespective of the form or shape. In other words, a configuration depends on the figuration or the edges. Arrangements in nature are recognized both as a composition and configuration, and exploited through the Biomimetics.
