MissyTCat2021-11-23 Looks like a "Captive" clone, only of poorer quality - though I can't vouch for that as having never played it. View all comments (146)
Lester12018-04-16 This came bundled with my CD32 back in the day. A cracking introduction but despite countless attempts, I couldn't get any enjoyment from the game. It was billed as a game that showed off what the CD32 could do, and the magazines scored it as such. In fact, not only was a floppy version released, it ran on the A500 (minus the speech). And that's not surprising, the graphics were, to be honest, quite poor. Simon Byron as editor of the The One magazine had an occasional tendency to seriously overate a game (e.g. Liberation, Elfmania) to the extent that I assume money changed hands (otherwise a good magazine though).
I haven't scored it as I'm sure it's a different experience if you are the sort of player who can work out precisely what to do. View all comments (95)
Haywire2013-01-05 (7/10) Many of the leads and tips did not make sense. I kept getting a key card for 1810 from NPCs and never found out what or where it was for. Also I never got a final address for where the guy was at 8 Sasgom Blvd in the Gamma zone. The only reason I went there was by watching the walkthru on youtube. Also I never found the Data Crystal! Hopefully mission 2 is better. I've already noticed the street maps and places are completely different! The story line is basically the same just different names and a scrambled/rearranged map, so I can see why many people would not want to continue playing Liberation. I'm dropping my score for this one from a 8 to a 7/10. Haywire View all comments (69)
funkyellowmonkey(ps3 id)2009-09-12 (10/10) Incredible game, played it loads and managed to finish it! There was so much you could do, it was amazing, the speech and sound effects were awesome (there were some dodgy dealers that spoke cockney!) lol. This and Frontier: Elite 2, kept me glued to the old box well into the nights! Absolute classic, miss this at your peril! View all comments (17)
flyingteddy2009-07-22 (8/10) A game ahead of its time, like others I never really got anywhere with it but enjoyed it none the less. 8/10 View all comments (14)
radioman9702008-04-03 (7/10) I bought the floppy version not knowing there was a CD32. I just had to have the thing as quickly as possible. I played the game quite a bit and felt it was okay. But every time I'd play I'd be thinking about how much better the CD32 version might be...or just playing the similar but better (IMHO) Hired Guns instead. Still, this is a very nice title with a great intro. I fired it up on the emulator recently and found myself playing for quite a long time. A worthy Amiga title that generated a lot of excitement for the platform.
Rainbird Rich2008-01-02 Despite the fact that I never made any significant progress in the game itself, I really enjoyed writing the manual and the introduction was pretty good! View all comments (6)
arne2007-07-15 I dunno how many times I booted this game up just to watch that intro-sequence. The intro is really a work of art in itself. View all comments (17)
Yure2007-05-07 I never played the game, but on the CD32 demo CD there was the intro... Look at it, it was one of the best on Amiga ever, incredible music and professional speech. So many years and I still think it's great. View all comments (206)
Guybrush Threepwood2006-01-10 (10/10) I liked this game, it had that Bladerunner feel to it, intriguing storyline, nice GFX and good music making this a decent game when it was released very early after CD32 was out. View all comments (522)
Puzzle Rattrap2005-07-14 (5/10) I really wanted to like this, but it's a mess really. It's sluggish, and all 4000-odd levels are randomly generated, so there's no real 'design', it's all random trudging through corridors. View all comments (100)
Scarface2005-01-18 (9/10) Great game, it's definitely one of my favourites. There's so much to do and the gameplay is amazing, even the sound is good. If you have an Amiga CD32 you need this game. View all comments (5)
