Pretty damn impressive for a 1mhz machine in 1989.

Yah, it's slow. Computer opponents takes too fricken long. Graphics aren't great.

Still, the 3d effect is nicely done.
The joystick controls work well.
I suppose it makes a good game against a friend.

Recommendation: play the Amiga version instead😐

Technically this is quite the achievement but, on original hardware, this is just way too slow to be enjoyable. As such, a bang average 5

I couldn't get into this back in the day and found the slowness and perspective off putting. Playing it today on an emulator with warp does improve the experience somewhat but the weird 3D actually works against it I find. Prefer 2D pool/snooker games in general, at least on the C64. A good attempt but a fail overall as far as my tastes go. As I cant give 5. 5 it'll have to be a 5 out of 10.

Honestly... This is the reason why we have warp in vice. It makes it GOOOD game!!! On stock C64 get some snack as you will spend your life with moving the table around.

On a stock machine this crawls. Play it with either a SuperCPU or Turbo Chameleon 64 and it has a whole new life.

Could have been a good game, shame it wasn't a bit faster and the table had cushions.

This one needs more Mhz! Or a programmer who knows his C64 math libraries.

Nice attempt and achievement but it is so slow that it is totally unplayable...

Well, good effort, good coding. I still prefer 2D pool games but this one is technically great as expected from Orlando.

Terrible graphics & sound. I prefer "American 3D Pool".

Not a bad little 3D pool game on the humble commy. The 3D effect was really quite impressive and ball movement was fine. Playable enough too. :)

A good Billiard-simulation. I like the game. Sometimes it's a bit slow when your opponent is thinking for his next "turn".

I was searching like hell for this game within Gamebase. You can find it under the name "Maltese Joe plays 3-D Pool". ;-D

This was an amazing achievement for its time. I still remember being in awe that they simulated all the balls in 3D, and how you could pan around the entire table. It was also neat that you could play against the computer AI. Great stuff!

Here are the instructions:
[Z] = Left
[X] = Right
[;] = Up
[/] = Down
[RETURN] = Strike
[RUN/STOP] = Quit
[CRSR DOWN] = Out
[CRSR RIGHT] = In
[U] = Flip viewing position around to other side of the table
[S] = Switch colours (see note below)

Double click the fire button to "strike" or hit the cue ball.
Also sets the ball at the beginning of the game. In the "D" zone.

3D Pool for C64, nice attempt but no thank you. Does not have the same feeling like 2D pool games. 6/10

Play this game with the SuperCPU and really see it come to life! Brilliant, even if the sound is out of sync with the accelerated 3D movements.
TWR 2003-02-26
Nice 3D graphics, but it ain't as fun as the older pool games.
evilEd 2002-09-17
Nice concept, unfortunately the realization isn't that good... Graphics really to blocky and slow
Lurch 2002-02-08
Nice idea but a real shame that the C64 just couldn't handle the 3D concept. Having said that it still plays well and is as realistic as you can get on this old platform.

The best pool game that I've seen on the Commodore 64. But the computer players take their time about taking their shots some times. It plays great but your eyes might go a bit funny looking at the crap background colours.
Phil Burgwin 2002-01-25
Can not comment cus I cant figure out how to shoot. I can position the ball where I want it but after that non of my keyboard controls seem to do anything except view the pool table from different angles (Grrr!).
