Dinkel earns well-deserved induction into HHSAA Hall of Honor

Jun. 14, 2023

Hoʻomaikaʻi to Class of 2023 alumnus Elijah Dinkel on being selected to the HHSAA Hall of Honor.

Elijah is the eighth student-athlete from KSH to earn this prestigious honor, joining Kanani Araki KSH'21, Chenoa Frederick KSH '20, Saydee Aganus KSH '18, Evan Enriques KSH '14, Shaun Kagawa KSH '13, Kolten Wong KSH '08, and Reece Alnas KSH '07.

A standout on both the football and soccer fields since his freshmen year, Elijah brought tremendous poise, work ethic and leadership, along with his incredible talent, to our teams. On the gridiron, he was consistent and gave our squads a special teams edge, putting points on the board when drives stalled, and pinning teams back with his ability to force a touchback. On the pitch, he led our boys soccer team to back-to-back DII HHSAA championships and earning player of the year honors this year. He even added track his senior year, and earned a BIIF medal in the 4x100 boys relay.

"This an honor well-deserved, and we are all proud of you as you continue to represent your ʻohana, your community, your school, and your aliʻi well," shared high school principal Dr. Lehua Veincent.

He was profiled in the Star Advertiser last week. Read the article.

“I want to be remembered for my hard work and passion for sports,” Dinkel shared. “You only need four things to succeed: God, family, hard work and the right mentality.”

"I feel extremely grateful to be recognized in the state for my accomplishments. I feel humbled to have been selected as one of the Hall of Honor athletes,” he said. “I am very grateful for the experience of being a student-athlete at Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi.”

E hoʻomaikaʻi e Elijah! I Mua!
