KONAMI ANNOUNCES GUILLERMO OCHOA AS NEWEST AMBASSADOR FOR eFootball™ 

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) today announced the signing of Guillermo Ochoa (Memo) as ambassador for its football video game franchise “eFootball™”.  The goalkeeper has found success on the international level having earned 130 caps for Mexico and on the domestic side with LIGA BBVA MX’s Club América (América).

“I am excited to announce this partnership with KONAMI and to be part of the eFootball family,” said Ochoa.” I am humbled to have Konami recognize my contribution to football over the years. As a gamer and a genuine fan of eFootball, I’m looking to do some exciting things with this partnership.

Ochoa recently added to his remarkable career, breaking the record for most caps (130) for a goalkeeper in Mexican football history. Beginning his professional career in 2003 with LIGA BBVA MX powerhouse América, Memo also competed abroad, taking on Europe’s elite strikers from top-flight clubs in France, Spain, and Belgium before returning to América in 2019. His return to Mexico featured many more professional club appearances including his upcoming representation of Mexico on the world’s stage later this year in Qatar. Memo displays the same passion and determination as that of KONAMI’s current partnered footballers, and the company will proudly support him in his career.

Ochoa has been one of the top performers of the 2022 LIGA BBVA MX season and currently featured as one of eleven highlight players in-game as part of the Liga MX x Day of the Dead campaign.
