Since 2009, Ushuaia Beach Club has been one of the hottest daytime clubs and late-night party venues on Ibiza located on a dressed-up strip of otherwise drab Playa d'en Bossa. Founded by the quaff and ever-connected Frenchman Yann Pissenem, Ushuaia expanded in summer 2011 to include the former Fiesta Beach Hotel in an epic remodel and expansion that have made it the hottest party hotel on the island. Located directly opposite Space nightclub, visitors arrive to a minimalist façade of native stacked-stone and smooth white stucco leading to a stylish but simple lobby with adjoining Asian-fusion eatery and hotel bar. Outside is where the main attraction is, namely the resort deck with its free-form pool and massive teak lounge deck big enough for 5,000 of your closest friends and a few hotel guests you probably wish weren't there. Surrounding the pool are Nikki Beach-style day beds draped in linen and quirky collection of gold statuary facing a grandstand stage with rotating line-up of DJs and performers.
The Room
Larger than you first expect, a total of 263-guest rooms are arranged through a series of interconnecting 3-story buildings facing a center pool courtyard or surrounding neighborhood of hillside and ocean views. Rooms vary substantially with entry-level spaces offering an attractively utilitarian layout of LCD TV mounted to wall in front of a simple platform bed next to integrated shelving units that separate the room from the bathroom. Unique Swim-Up Rooms are exactly as they sound, a swimmable distance to the main pool through rivers that lead directly to a patio entrance. Suites comes with an upgraded design of step-up living area and outdoor space in addition to VIP access to the pool and select resort lounge areas.
