Cala Ferrera

Hotel Cala Ferrera....Ok, it's a lovely hotel located very close to the beach at Cala Ferrera. If you haven't been there before, the quickest way to the beach is a pathway that goes from the end of the pool area. There is also a lovely cafe, Playa Marina, situated on the beach for a leisurely lunch. You can also catch the tour boat that goes around the island from here and is great fun, especially the one that goes to Cala Mandrago... The staff here are very friendly and eager to ensure that your stay is comfortable and easy. We've only stayed here on a B&B basis twice now and will be going back in a few months, so that must say something. The first time we stayed there was for our honeymoon 22 years ago...and the hotel hasn't really changed much since then although the beds are a lot more comfortable now and it has been redecorated over the years. If you want somewhere that is clean, comfortable, has lovely staff and is very close to local bars, restaurants and the beach etc then you really can't go wrong with the Cala Fererra hotel. The only reason for not giving it a higher review is that, and this is just my opinion, the rooms could do with tea/coffee making facilities and perhaps a little fridge to keep bottles of water cold. Some relatives of mine were staying in a similarly priced hotel in C'an Pastilla where they had these facilities. Other than that, I really can't fault it as somewhere to stay, especially for families and couples..

Location is right on on of Cala D'Or's lovely beaches. Lots of places to eat out too. The hotel food is more orientated to Continental Europeans but usually quite good and choice is OK . However sometimes the meals were very average and unimaginative. You'll fill your belly though. Rooms are basic. No kettles. There is a TV and at least one socket to charge your devices. I did not use the pool but it looked clean and sun longer were new. The pool also has an excellent view of the bay. It's a good base for the beach and trips and a short walk to the bars and restaurants. Its a quiet hotel except if your room is overlooking the service road which is used every night at 3am by the local refuse collection. I was woken every night until I was moved to the other side of the hotel after complaining.

All inclusive had poor alcoholic options although you could pay for decent brands. Food choices were limited although again you could get by with something. Steps & walk way to beach not the best not secure for young children, also children’s play area closed. play area for children was closed

Great Location with access to a nice beach with plenty on sunbads for hire nice friendly staff with a few good nights of entertainment However the bin men come twice a day, late at night and early in the morning the pool is very cold and only gets the sun for part of the day could do with few more sunbads as some day there were not enough now for the really annoying bit and I'm being honest the food was very poor with not much selection we were half board and we were glad go self catering as plenty of places to eat close by

This hotel is quite old fashioned but is very clean. Towels were changed every day, although the sheets were not. I went all inclusive, the range of drinks was poor the food was not good, especially the evening meal The choices were repetitive, cheap cuts of meat, dried up pasta dishes, very bland soup. The salads were nice but nothing really to go with salad...no cold meats or cheese. The staff were very friendly and polite.
