Seprod made this product… to re-energise the brand and provide more options for our consumers.
Our initial challenge was… consumers would accidentally purchase the flavoured milk for the usual sweetened condensed milk and use it as they would normally. However, some consumers, not realising the product was different, thought the formulation of the product had changed. The labels for the variations of sweetened condensed milk had to be changed to make them easier to differentiate.
Managing the raw material inventory presents… no issue as raw materials are sourced locally.
Betty Cinnamon Vanilla Nutmeg Condensed Milk became available… to the trade in November 2016. But was officially launched with the “More Reasons to Love Campaign” in September 2017.
The response to the product has been… tremendous.
Our core customers are… baking and culinary enthusiasts; males and females who enjoy the rich creamy flavour condensed milk brings to porridges, punches, beverages and warm beverages.
Betty Cinnamon Vanilla Nutmeg Condensed Milk can be found at… retailers islandwide — supermarkets, wholesalers and mom and pop establishments.
Future plans include… new innovations and a diversified selection to accommodate all age groups and lifestyles, eg, our full cream and 1% was created with both our younger and senior consumers in mind.
Jamaicans should support the product because… it’s a locally made product made by a Jamaican-own company.
The product is successful because… of our strong brand equity and consistent quality.
If we knew then what we know now… we would have offered more varieties to the market sooner.
