Cattolica (Emilia Romagna)

Cattolica is the southernmost seaside resort on the Adriatic Riviera of Emilia Romagna, about twenty kilometres from Rimini and on the border with the Marche region. The centre of Cattolica is rich in shops, trendy boutiques, cafes, ice cream parlors and restaurants. Important sights are the Church of San Apollinare (13th century), Malatesta tower (1490) and the Arena della Regina, a futuristic building designed by the architect Pier Luigi Cervellati. Also worth visiting is the old harbour, where traditionally the fishing fleet is moored. Lining the square, with its characteristic boat-shaped fountain in the centre, are a number of bars and restaurants. During the summer there are lots of events held here. The “Magical Night of the Clams” on the last Sunday in July is particularly spectacular, with the boats heading out to sea to form the world’s biggest fountain.

Recipes

You don’t need fancy pasta-making equipment to create this specialty shape from the small town of Bobbio in the Piacenza province of Emilia-Romagna — but you do need a knitting needle.

Speckled with pretty orange bits of cantaloupe, this cake is as lovely as it is luscious.

Recipes

This honey walnut pie is a specialty of Emilia-Romagna, especially Modena, and is traditionally served during festive times.

Two specialties of Italy, panforte (“strong bread”) and its predecessor panpepato (“peppered bread”), are not breads at all, but closer to fruitcakes featuring many spices.

What others are saying about Emilia Romagna

I wonder if someone may be able to help me ? In 2005 we purchased some land and property. The intention was to set up an Agri Tourism. We were unable to stop the infiltration of hunters onto the land and eventually abandoned the venture in 2007.

Ciao a tutti

Might anyone have a flat/house a family of three-four could rent between 1 Sept-30 Nov 2023 in Modena? I’m a researcher on sabbatical visiting from New Zealand. Options like Airbnb and Stayz are ridiculously expensive for such a long period.

Grazie mille,

We have residency in Italy and are thinking of renting out our property in Emilia-Romagna through Airbnb and have a few questions which we hope someone may be able to help us with:-

1. How easy is the registration process through the SCIA?
