The Nokia 3310, which has been of one the most hotly anticipated phones of the year, officially launched in India on May 18 for Rs 3310. The new phone adds features like a 2MP rear camera, microUSB support, a 2.4-inch color display while at the same time retaining the soul of the original. But now there is clone -- or in other words copycat -- of the Nokia 3310 and it is called Darago 3310. This phone apparently sells for Rs 799.

If Rs 3310 sounds too much to you for a feature phone, a company by the name of Darago has made a clone for a lucrative price of Rs 799. The smartphone is available online on Flipkart and looks almost exactly like the original.

So far so good, if you are into copycats. Unfortunately, if you are looking to get the Darago 3310 despite its strange sounding name and the fact that this is an unknown brand, you can't anymore. The hone was listed on Flipkart on Monday but within hours it went "out of stock".

Meanwhile, there are some obvious compromises in the Darago 3310 despite its appearance that is very similar to the Nokia 3310. It comes with a smaller 1.77" display, it doesn't run on Nokia's S30+ operating system, features just 1MB of RAM as compared to 16MB on the original, supports only up to 8GB of expandable storage and comes with a mediocre 0.3MP rear camera.

Some things are very similar though. Just like the original 3310, the Darago also comes with a microUSB port for charging, a similar design with the same button layout, only 2G support and no Wi-Fi.

The 2017 version of the Nokia 3310 comes with 2.4-inch color display, microSD card support (upto 32GB), a 1200mAh battery that Nokia claims delivers up to 22 hours of talktime and a whopping 30 days of standby time and a 2MP rear camera.

The smartphone comes with a modernised version of the iconic Snake game and runs on Nokia's S30+ operating system. It comes with 2G and dualSIM support and does not come with 3G/4G or Wi-Fi support on board.

Design wise, the smartphone features a much slimmer and lighter design than its predecessor and is offered in a bevy of colors such as red, yellow, blue and grey. Unlike the Darago 3310, it is only available from offline stores as of now.
