Akshay Kumar recently announced that his much-awaited film Bell Bottom will be released on August 19. Since then fans have been eagerly waiting for the multi-starrer to hit the theatres. However, apart from the engaging trailer, what intrigued fans was actress Lara Dutta's unrecognisable look as Indira Gandhi.

Netizens had gone berserk over Lara Dutta's look as Indira Gandhi in Bell Bottom. Many Twitterati said that Lara Dutt's look has been done to the T. The actress recently, in an interview, revealed that she had special connection with Indira Gandhi and hence felt it was more personal.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Lara said that her father, Wing Commander L.K Dutta, was Indira Gandhi’s personal pilot. “He had flown her many times and knew her personally. I grew up as a kid hearing stories about her. So, in a way, I felt an indirect personal connection with her,” she was quoted saying.

Actor Lara Dutta has revealed her husband Mahesh Bhupathi and their daughter Saira were stunned by her transformation. Due to the Covid lockdown, Lara Dutta had to conduct her look tests from home. As a result, both her husband and her daughter could see her transforming into late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Lara Dutta told Zoom TV in an interview, "She was intrigued. She saw it come alive in front of her... She came in and she saw whole silicon on my face and said, 'Mum they are going to kill you, you can't breathe.' She was so worried. Ya, but having said that, she was also very intrigued and was like, 'Can I touch the nose, the eyebrows? Can I do this, that?'."

Speaking about her husband, Lara said that he was so shocked that he did not want to hug her.

The film will see a theatrical release on July 19.
