Sugababes have delighted fans by releasing an album they recorded almost eight years ago.
The pop trio consisting of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy, lost the right to record and perform as the Sugababes after a number of lineup changes in the group.
The original lineup performed between 1998 to 2001, during which time they achieved six Number 1 singles. They briefly reformed as Mks in 2013 before regaining the right to perform as the Sugababes in 2019, when they released a cover of UK garage classic “Flowers” by Sweet Female Attitude.
A successful comeback year has involved a UK headline tour and a set at Glastonbury Festival to huge crowds. They have now released a full studio album, The Lost Tapes.

British singer Keisha Buchanan is reportedly planning to lift the lid on the Sugababes' troubles in a new tell-all book. The group has been dogged by rumors of infighting over the years and now contains none of the founding members.
Buchanan - who starred in the original line-up with Siobhan Donaghy and Mutya Buena in 1998 - left the band last year amid allegations she was forced out by the record label. And now she's planning a book to make the band's problems public, according to Britain's Now magazine.
A source tells the publication, "Keisha's in discussions about writing a book about her time in the band. Publishers have been after her for ages, but it's only now she's seriously considering it. At the moment it's still in the initial stages, but she's very excited. The book will chart the highs and lows and obviously deal with the very public split last year.

Mutya Buena actually sent the application under her name in November last year, just few months after Keisha Buchanan left the group. Later on, she revised the paper and resubmitted it with the inclusion of Keisha and Siobhan Donaghy's names.
Sugababes currently have Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen on the line-up. After several pushbacks, they are gearing up to release a studio album titled "Sweet 7" later this month.
In the meantime, they are given a chance to launch an official opposition against the lawsuit until May 8, according to Holy Moly!. If they lose it, they have to release the CD under new name.

A new revelation behind the split of Sugababes with Keisha Buchanan has been outed by members Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah. In an interview with Ok! Magazine, the two uncovered that they were the ones who actually quit the trio, and Keisha was not being kicked out of the pop trio.
"It's flattering that people are so interested [in the split], but it's hard when things that aren't true are written about you," Range explained. "When the whole lineup changed, it was me and Amelle that left the band - Keisha was never kicked out. We risked our careers. We [just] couldn't take the situation any more."
The 26-year-old singer elaborated further, "You get to a point in life when you just make some life decisions and a line was crossed. So we walked out. [We said] 'I'm not going to take this anymore,' so there's nothing wrong in doing that. I know as a person morally,...

The ‘About a Girl’ hitmakers feel like a completely different group since their recent line-up change and have enjoyed familiarising themselves with their older records and getting to know new member Jade Ewen Heidi Range said: “We’ve been rehearsing loads and are enjoying it at last. We feel like a new band learning the songs again. “I wish we could discuss what we are doing musically more but obviously there’s been so much else to talk about recently and we have to give answers.” In September, the last remaining original member Keisha Buchanan was ousted from the group and replaced by Jade after relations with Heidi and Amelle Berrabah irrevocably broke down. Although former Eurovision contestant Jade, 21, joined the Sugababes almost immediately after Keisha left, she admits it has taken her a while to settle into the girl group. Jade explained to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “We...

The singer – who was replaced in the group in September by Jade Ewen following a series of rows with her bandmates Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah - insists the current line-up are only out for themselves and she doesn’t miss their friendship. She said: “I’m doing what’s best for me. They did what’s best for them. “The fact is, I was in Sugababes for 12 years. I was in that band because I loved it, not to elevate myself. “I did a lot of stuff behind the scenes for the band that people don’t know about. I was always the one working hard.” The 25-year-old star also denied reports she is planning to reunite with fellow original Sugababes Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy, insisting she is happy to be a solo artist. She added to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “You’ve got to move on...

Sugababes have revealed that the original lineup would not legally be allowed to use their name if they decide to reform. However, the 'About A Girl' trio claimed that Siobhan Donaghy, Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan would still be able to perform songs from One Touch, the only album to include all their vocals. "They could still perform them, but they can't use the name because it belongs to our record company who we signed to," Heidi Range told Real Radio. "They wouldn't be allowed to use any of the songs except 'Overload', it would be like doing a cover," Amelle Berrabah said. (more)...
