Your rare hostas?

What are some of your rarest or hard-to-find hostas? I thought it would be fun to know what each of us have in our gardens.

I don't personally grow a large number of hostas, but have a few which I think are somewhat uncommon. (Let me know if you think any on this list are not very rare.)

Wow! Congrats to you. You have some nice ones. I thought you didn't grow many. I could be so lucky.I don't know about rare, but some of them are expensive to buy.I'm getting Foiled Plot and Paisley Print this spring.

Pamela Lee isn't too rare. I bought it from Naylor at the 2010 convention.

Whee! I think I've seen that one for sale too.

    Don,
Wow, what a collection. I have never seen any of those. Some pics from your garden would be cool.

I am so impressed! I only have a few uncommon (but not really rare) hostas, but my list will be growing longer this year. Especially now that I have a whole new list to look at, lol!

I have Funky Monkey, Noah's Rainbow, Three Sisters, Ringtail, Grey Ghost, Ebony Towers, Gilt by Association, War Paint, Spinach Patch--and tho it isn't rare, seems like it's kind of hard to find--Lady Fingers.

I've ordered a few more for this spring and I'm still working on my list!

I guess my most "rare" would be Gunther's Prize. I just got it last summer, so will be excited to see what it does this year.

Don - I have 6 (HUGE) montana 'Chodai Ginyo' but that's only b/c I'm obsessed w/ all things montana and bought TCs to grow. LOL Amazing hosta, may I add!

I honestly can't remember most of what I have any more...my tags are a mess. What few I do remember:

    Monument Circle OS
    Dorothy Benedict OS
    David A. Haskell OS
    Spinning Wheel
    Artists Palette
    Photo Finish
    Substance Abuse OS
    Arch Duke

Some of these may have become common since I purchased/acquired them as "rare". I am out of the hosta loop right now. :)
Various other TCs that I grew that never really went big in production...can't remember a durned thing today. lol

not fantastic yet. i got it in a trade (a great one, may i add!) and it had rot so it has been a rough go of trying to get it established.

this year will tell the tale! :)

Mine has been quite slow to increase. I've also noticed some spring dessication burn occassionally (I'm growing it in full sun). However, I've seen some mature clumps over the years which have been very nice.

Don...I was just doing an internet search for the Osiris series of ligularia, found this thread and saw that Obscur above - HOLY SMOKES! that is unreal! How is it growing for you?

I'm not sure why I didn't scream about it earlier this year...but I am screaming now. LOL

Is that Pebbles something new or is it Lakside Pebbles?

The only rare or new one I have is She's a Dancer.

I don't think I have anything particularly rare. The ones I have that I don't see mentioned often are 'Lakeside Baby Face' (which is a cute mini) and 'Sno Cone,' which was Bob Solberg's club hosta last year (for hosta clubs only and not offered to the retail hosta trade.)

Still, I'm not sure you'd call them "rare."
