About This Product

The Cranberry Cotoneaster is a unique and beautiful deciduous plant with many interesting attributes. Its branches cascade downward in an unusual herringbone pattern. The glossy green leaves turn different shades of purple, gold and red in the fall and the soft-pink spring flowers give way to showy, large red berries in summer. This unique plant truly provides new colors and displays with the coming of every season. It grows low and spreads by when its branches touch the ground, making for a lovely groundcover and can also be planted to form a low, rustic hedge. This plant is well suited for hardiness zones 4-7. It prefers average, well-drained soil and does not do well in very hot, humid climates. This moderate grower can reach a height of 3 ft. and spread to 6 ft. in width. The unique and gorgeous Cranberry Cotoneaster is an exciting addition to any garden, including Asian/Zen, Contemporary, Rustic and Wildlife styles.

Answer This Question

A:  Grows zone 4 thru 7 so No Further South Than North Carolina. It can?t take the heat in Florida. You might experiment with it in a pot in the shade where it could get cool summer breeze. But I would not bother putting in ground.

I was unable to find the cranberry cotton easter in my area so I was happy to find it on Home Depot's website. I was not sure how plants would do coming by mail but they were packed very well and came in great shape.

Healthy plant but smaller than stated.
Small plant, but in decent shape, with some green and some yellow leaves, soil still moist, well packaged, well shipped. The size of the container, however, was not even close to a gallon. If it grows well in the spring, I will be happy enough - it seems healthy for now.

2.5 quarts do not equal 1 gallon
I received this plant today, but it is nowhere near a Gallon size. The pot was 2.5 quarts. Very small, and hopefully it survives. I will never buy these online again. Not happy.
