Dora and Boots are headed to theaters in a new short film debuting with Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie.
Dora and the Fantastical Creatures marks the first time an animated iteration of Dora has hit theaters, following the live-action 2019 feature Dora and the Lost City of Gold, which starred Isabela Merced as Dora.
The short sends Dora (Diana Zermeño) and Boots (Asher Spence) on a journey to the land of alebrijes, which according to the logline is a place full of “most magical and colorful creatures in the rainforest. There, they must band together against Swiper (Marc Weiner) to save the beloved alebrijes and their Copal Tree Celebration.”

Dora and the Fantastical Creatures will lead into a new CG animated series, Dora, which will stream on Paramount+ in spring 2024, and also air on Nickelodeon. The film also voice stars Anairis Quiñones as Luna Arcoiris, Danny Burstein as Sol, and Kate del Castillo as Ale.
William Mata, an artist who worked on projects such as The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part and The Sea Beast is directing. Alejandro Bien-Willner penned the script based on a story he developed with Sean Gill.
Other voice actors include Anairis Quiñones as Map and The Fiesta Trio’s armadillo; Maria Canals-Barrera as Abuela; Danny Burstein as Grumpy Old Troll and The Fiesta Trio’s frog and marmoset; Katarina Sky as Backpack; Donovan Monzon-Sanders as Tico; Tandi Fomukong as Isa; Quintún Muñoz as Benny; and Chris Gifford as Big Red Chicken.
Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie and the new Dora arrive in theaters on Sept. 29.
