A rapidly growing deciduous shrub with a loose rounded habit that produces small white flowers in spring followed by blueish white berries in summer. However, ‘Baileyi’s’ real time to shine is in winter with glorious red stems that make your winter landscape pop. Great zone 1 rain garden plant where water stands for a period of time. Use alone or mass for more effect, and is great for cut arrangements. This species is non-stoniferous and will not spread like the species.

Tolerates wet soils, deer resistant, erosion control, clay soil tolerant.

Full sun - part shade. Rich, fertile, consistently moist soil.

Best stem color on new growth, to maintain vibrancy, we recommend cutting 20-25% of oldest stems each year to encourage new growth.
