About Votsalakia Beach

Located 10 km south of Athens, in the area of Piraeus, Votsalakia is a popular beach. It is one of the few beaches in Piraeus. It is also close to the neighborhood of Kastella, which is popular and busy. Thanks to its proximity to these locations, the beach itself can get crowded, especially during the summer months.

Votsalakia Beach is pebbled and the seafloor is rocky. The water is beautiful and clean. There is both an organized section and an unorganized section of the beach. There are many restaurants and cafes in the area. A volleyball court can be found on the beach.

Votsalakia Beach is the perfect place to escape after a day of sightseeing. You can lounge under the sun and swim in the gorgeous water. If you’re up for fun with friends, family, or other visitors to the beach, enjoy a game or two of volleyball. There is a volleyball net set up on the beach for your enjoyment.

Visiting Kastella is worth your time when you’re in the area. The hilly neighborhood is one of the most picturesque in Piraeus. As you stroll the neighborhood you will be able to admire neoclassical mansions and narrow roads. Your walk around Kastella will surely fascinate and inspire you. Some of the mansions are abandoned, creating a more rustic feel to the area. If you are into history and photography, you are going to find this neighborhood a true paradise. At the top of Kastella Hill is Veakeio Theatre, an open-air theatre where concerts and performances are held during the summer and fall months. Kastella is close to the harbor of Mikrolimano, which is famous for its fresh fish tavernas.
