Description:

It is an extremely ornamental succulent thanks to it’s shapes and the colors. It has a well-open rosette, like most Aeonium, consisting of flattened and elongated leaves that tend to widen at the apex. The leaves have beautiful bright green color, however, it is also extremely variable from the chromatic point of view, since when it is exposed to the sun's rays it is tinged with pleasant reddish shades along the edges, which accentuate even more the delicate down of which its epidermis is covered . Contrary to many other species of this genus, Aeonium canariense develops its rosettes directly at ground level, which is why the stems full of abundant yellow inflorescences that reach heights even higher than 70 cm appear even more showy!

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light all year long, however avoid direct sunlight especially during the hottest hours of the day.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures or over, but never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. Do so once every two weeks in spring and summer, reduce it to once every two months in autumn and winter.

A well-draining soil is an optimal solution, even better if further enriched with inert materials such as pumice, sand or lapilli.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
