Daboecia cantabrica or Cantabrian Heath is a low growing shrub that is related to the Heathers.
It has dark green lance shaped leaves with silver hairs underneath.
Gorgeous pinkish-purple, urn shaped flowers are borne on slender spikes and these make this plant a beautiful specimen in summer.
Cantabrian Heath loves and needs acidic soils, so they make an excellent companion with Azaleas, Camellias and other acid loving plants.
Cultivars include:
Daboecia x scotia 'William Buchanan" - which has dark green foliage and purple flowers.
