Synopsis
Together with her small but dedicated team, she has created a stunningly colourful, imaginative and inspriational garden consisting of separate rooms with the Sunken Garden being the central feature. This room has a formal structure with very informal planting which changes dramatically with the seasons.
Recently the Dahlia Festival has been added to the busy summer diary. For this period a huge array of Dahlia are teamed with plants such as Eryngium, Petunia, Hosta, Lobelia, Sisyrinchium striatum, Leucanthemum, Sedum spectabile and Euphorbia.
Careful planning and planting has stamped Mrs McLeod Mathew's personality on the garden creating a space that has maximum impact with a curious, chaotic harmony of colour and texture. Every inch as been used to great effect. Walking between the double borders you get a feeling of being in a technicolour dream. Other rooms include the Kitchen Garden, the White Garden and a parterre with gazebo.
