We introduce you to special plants with an exotic flair that not everyone has and that make your urban jungle something special.
Eye-catching orchid: Cattleya maxima
This variety is also known as the corsage orchid because of its beauty, it is often used as a boutonniere. Native to Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and the northern coastal region of Peru, this plant grows at altitudes of up to 1500 meters. The flower of the single-leaved epiphyte is purple or white and very fragrant! They give every room that certain (exotic) something.
Our tips for care: They thrive and bloom more luxuriantly if you fertilize regularly. Just like any other houseplant, you should fertilize your orchids every two to four weeks. Exotic houseplant: Guzmania musaica
This plant is one of the most beautiful guzmanias (bromelias) ever: The so-called mosaic vase bromeliad comes from Central and South America. In nature she is found in mangrove and cloud forests, but in your home she will also do well in a pot with well drained substrate in a partially shaded spot. A member of the Bromeliaceae family, this epiphyte has tubular, bright yellow-green flowers and pink to red bracts in racemes. The long, narrow leaves are in a rosette and grow up to 20 cm. You should water moderately and spray with low-lime water at least once a week in summer.
Low-maintenance tropical houseplants: air plants
Air plants are exotic and easy to care for: They do not need soil for their growth, instead the roots absorb nutrients and humidity from the air. Plant lovers simply hang this plant in a container on the wall, no potting soil necessary. Regular misting or watering is important to keep the air plant moist - it should never be left dry for long. Tillandsia complanata
Tillandsia complanata, also known as complanata air plant, is one of the most intriguing epiphytic bromeliad species. Attention: In addition to the slender, elongated foliage, which is arranged in a fan-like formation, this air plant has pendent flower spikes in a bright red colour. This tropical plant is an ideal addition to any terrarium or hanging display. Tillandsia Complanata prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can damage the plant's delicate leaves.
Tillandsia tovarensis
The sword-shaped leaves of this plant are broad with a purple tint mostly on the underside of the leaves. It forms a flower stalk, which grows tall with good care and is red to purple. Tillandsia tovarensis is also a species of flowering plant from the tillandsia genus and is native to South America.

Exotic rarity: Rhipsalis floccosa subsp. pulvinigera
This epiphytic cactus is native to southern Brazil and has rounded stems that branch upright and then pendulous. The shoots can grow up to 15 meters long - they are thin and green, but in strong sunlight they can also develop reddish. As a special decoration for your home, this cactus has white flowers followed by red or white fruits. Succulents and cacti are rightly an absolute trend at the moment and are becoming increasingly popular as they are absolutely easy to care for!
