Portea petropolitana provides super long-lasting color. The colorful inflorescence (first photo) slowly changes to "berries" (second photo), and will retain good color all summer long!

The flower spike grows 5 to 6 feet tall so it's a highly visible and showy addition to the landscape. Hummingbirds are attracted to the blue tubular flowers.
This bromeliad will grow in full shade to full sun conditions.

The bromeliad you receive will be an un-bloomed offset recently removed from the mother plant (similar to the last photo). It is ready to be potted up or planted in the ground, and will usually have no roots when shipped. Long leaves may be trimmed to fit a 26" mailing tube. All plants are outdoor-grown and perfect for landscape use or indoor culture.
