Angel Reese has had it her way in 2023. The LSU Tigers star has seen nothing but success throughout the year, becoming a national icon during the course. She has been in the headlines for her relationship, and modeling endeavors, and now for a staggering valuation. However, it all began at the NCAA March Madness which catapulted her to unprecedented fame.

The 2023 NCAA March Madness made history for several reasons. The championship game alone, witnessed multiple records being broken which cemented its significance in history. The LSU Tigers lifted their program’s first-ever title as they handed a crushing defeat to Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Angel Reese not only led the Tigers to this incredible feat but also made history by racking up the most double-doubles in tournament history. After breaking records in the NCAA tournament, Reese has now expressed her desire to break WNBA stereotypes. Here’s how.

Angel Reese has been in the headlines for several reasons lately. Be it through her relationship with her beau, Cam’Ron Fletcher, or her Sports Illustrated photoshoot, Angel Reese has grabbed the basketball world’s attention like none other. She has since garnered a whopping valuation of $1.4M according to her NIL rankings. However, none of this can overshadow her phenomenal basketball talent.

The Tigers forward is all set to enter the WNBA Draft next season, raising several teams’ eyebrows. She has shown her potential as a two-way superstar in the college circuit and is now ready to take her talents to the WNBA. When asked about her plans in the league, Reese had some interesting comments.

My biggest priority right now is just being me. My goal is to play in the WNBA, but I also have aspirations to be a model, just being able to tap into both sides“, she told Harper’s Bazaar, revealing her goals after making it to the WNBA.

She further added, “I want to push that new narrative of being able to be cute off court but when you get on the court, just being able to ball; I’ve always been confident….being a Black woman, I can do whatever I put my mind to.

However, the 21-year-old also went on to state how she would like to inspire the youth. “I love being able to see the little girls that look up to me….but now it feels like every time I go out somewhere, everybody actually recognizes me. Even men.” said the 21-year-old.

Angel Reese revealed some major plans she has when she gets to the WNBA. However, there is a long journey ahead of her before she achieves this feat.

Angel Reese has shown her extraordinary charisma off-court and her incredible talent on-court. The Tigers forward is currently one of the most celebrated athletes in the college circuit along with the likes of Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers. The 21-year-old is also projected as a top draft pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. However, she has a long journey ahead before she gets to the draft.

Reese’s college career is still not done. Despite leading the Tigers to the NCAA title, she still is eligible to play another season with the team. She also has her educational degree to complete which she has stated is one of her priorities at the moment. In the same interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the 21-year-old mentioned “I want to get another national championship. That’s my biggest thing [with] college, just walking out national champion and getting a degree“.

Angel Reese may be a star already but she has her priorities straight. She claims to take her modelling endeavours very seriously but she has not let it affect her game. With another NCAA season to play before entering the WNBA, the 21-year-old gets an opportunity to emphasize her credibility as a top draft pick.
