Located in the heart of the Vanoise National Park, at an altitude of 2,350 m, the Fond d'Aussois refuge awaits you in an exceptional and peaceful environment, at the foot of the Aussois pass, under the Echelle massif. The refuge is open all year round, with organic and local food during the guarding periods from the end of March to mid-May and from the beginning of June to the end of September.
The refuge is camped on a ridge, itself situated in the hollow of a valley, from where it is frequent to see ibex. Around the refuge, impressive summits such as the Ambin peak, the Scolette peak (3 508 meters) or the Longe Côte peak, stand out. The refuge keeper, Thierry MARGUERON, offers organic or local food that will delight your taste buds. From the end of March to mid-May and from the beginning of June to the end of September, the refuge is guarded. During this period, the refuge has a capacity of 52 beds arranged in 5 dormitories. During the summer season, the refuge is easily reached from the Plan d'Amont parking lot in the commune of Aussois in about 1 hour. During the spring ski season, it is possible to access the refuge from the top of the ski lifts of the resort of Aussois (hiker's pass). Outside these periods, the refuge has a room of 20 places open permanently in winter.
