The Archaeological Park of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento is one of the largest archaeological sites in the Mediterranean and preserves an extraordinary monumental and landscape heritage of the classical age.
The entire area has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. < br> The Valley of the Temples is characterized by the remains of eleven temples in Doric order, three sanctuaries, a large concentration of necropolis, hydraulic works, a part of a Roman Hellenistic quarter, an Olympeion and a Bouleuterion. Inside it houses the temple of Concord which, together with the Parthenon, is considered the best preserved Doric temple in the world.
