On Sept. 7, 2023, Charlie Puth announced his engagement to girlfriend Brooke Sansone with a post on Instagram about their shared pizza night.
“I flew to New York to ask my best friend to marry me, and she said yes,” Puth wrote in the caption. “I am the happiest, best version of myself and it is all because of you Brookie. I love you endlessly forever and ever and ever.”

Who is Brooke Sansone?
Sansone grew up in New Jersey, in the same town as Puth, and went on to get a degree in marketing at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, graduating in 2021. Per her LinkedIn profile, she now works in PR as the digital marketing and PR coordinator at Butter and Eggs Interiors, an interior design company.
In her free time, Sansone has a passion for fashion, and co-runs an Instagram account about outfit curation called Thee Closet Next Door.
She also frequently posts about traveling, another favorite hobby.
How did they meet?
The pair grew up together and were friends, according to an interview Puth gave on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show.
“(She’s) someone that I grew up with,” he said. “As my life gets more turbulent and I travel everywhere, it’s really nice to have someone close to you that you’ve known for a very long time...and I would assume that when times inevitably are hard in the future—because what is life without valleys and peaks—she would be there for me as well.”
He added, “Honestly, I get so scared of people now, like, I can’t really walk anywhere for whatever reason, and I think the more that happens, the more I just want to retreat to someone that I’ve known for a long time. I’m not really interested in going out like I used to and being crazy.”
How long have Puth and Sansone been romantically involved?
Rumors about the pair started in the summer of 2022. That July, Sansone shared photos from “the cape” on Instagram featuring both of their families.
In September of that year, the two were seen at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City along with a few of Puth’s family members. They went Instagram official in December, when Puth shared some photo booth pictures from his 31st birthday.
“Ohhhhh I’m NOT a loser…’cause I didn’t lose her!!! (Happy birthday to me.),” he captioned the pic.
Their red-carpet debut took place in February 2023 at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Gala in Los Angeles.
What has Puth said about wedding planning?
In mid-December, the singer opened up about how intense the process is to People. He said generally he’d prefer to keep it private: “I like to keep some things in the confines of our home, of course, because stuff gets out so easily,” he began but added that “planning a wedding is a lot like planning a tour. It’s probably even more intense.”
What has Puth said about his relationship with Sansone?
Sansone is a family friend. Their relationship, he told People in December, is “kind of just in the DNA.”
“I’ve known her,” he continued. “I mean, she grew up one town over from me in New Jersey, and my parents know her parents. Her dad has been best friends with my dad since the third grade, so it’s kind of like I’m just gaining another family right away, even before the wedding. And they’ve also known me before the fame, before everything, so I can’t think of a better situation, quite frankly.”

Most recently, on April 13, Puth and Sansone walked the carpet for the 2024 Breakthrough Prize Awards in Los Angeles. Sansone wore a red dress with an open back and black strappy heels. Puth was dressed in a black suit and accessorized with black and white beaded necklaces.
Sansone was also Puth’s date to the 2024 Emmys, where she wore a tiered black dress with black pumps. Puth coordinated with her in a white suit and silver star-studded black button-down shirt.
