With Monty Python and the Flying Circus' Eric Idle lending his voice to the lead character, Discworld is a humorous third-person graphic adventure featuring locations and characters based on Terry Pratchett's series of novels. As a low-level wizard named Rincewind, you must save the lavish town of Ankh-Morpork from a vile dragon. Akin to most games in the genre, the interface is point-and-click driven with an emphasis on conversing with townsfolk, solving puzzles, and collecting items, which are stored in the wizard's faithful traveling companion, Luggage. Players choose from various "attitudes" to use while conversing, including salutations, sarcasm, anger and asking questions. Puzzles are quite difficult in that you must combine items for use in obscure, illogical locations. While challenge is welcome in this genre, the level of difficulty set here detracts from the fun.
There is still much enjoyment to be had with Discworld, thanks to the British humor peppered throughout. The writing is done in the vein of Monty Python and voice acting is superb. Though it is quite possible to become stuck on each puzzle, this is a solid adventure from start to finish.
