Paddington fans have cause for celebration, as the release date for the third film has finally been revealed.

It won't be long until everyone's favourite bear is back on screens as his next adventure, titled Paddington in Peru, is set to arrive in UK cinemas on November 8, 2024.

The November release month will be no surprise to Paddington fans as the first two movies were released in November 2014 and November 2017.

StudioCanal announced the news on Twitter in true Paddington style with a marmalade-filled video clip.

Unfortunately, American movie-goers will have to wait a little longer as the film is set to be released on January 17, 2025 in the US.

The upcoming movie will see the return of Ben Whishaw, as he voices the titular bear.

Downton Abbey's Hugh Bonneville, Harry Potter actress Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin are also set to reprise their roles as the Brown family.

Rachel Zegler was set to take on the role of Gina Cabot, but due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, she is unable to work and has been replaced by newcomer Carla Tous. Sally Hawkins is also sadly stepping down from her role as Mrs Brown, with Emily Mortimer taking her place.

New famous faces joining the cast for the third film, include Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas.

Paddington in Peru will also see some changes behind the camera as the threequel welcomes on-board a new director.

Back in June 2022, StudioCanal revealed the film will be directed by Dougal Wilson. The director is best known for his work on music videos and commercials, including the 2021 John Lewis Christmas advert.

Wilson has taken over directing duties from Paul King, who is an executive producer on the upcoming film. King's also written a story alongside Simon Farnaby and Mark Burton, with a screenplay by Burton, Jon Foster and James Lamont.

Paddington in Peru is set to be released in UK cinemas on November 8, 2024 and January 17, 2025 in the US.
