About this vintage design furniture

Original hospital reclining chair. It came from the monastery of Holtum, the Netherlands. The monastery was run by an order of French nuns and was sadly demolished in the late 1970s. The chair was made in France in the 1920 or 1930s. It shows great resemblance with a design by Jean Prouve and Jules Leleu for the Martel de Janville sanitarium in France (Designed by Pol Abraham and Henry Jacques Lemême. The chair has a steel frame with wooden armrests. The cushions have the original cotton filling and probably still have the original fabric covers. Even the jute layer between the cushions and the spiral springs is still original. The chair has been mildly cleaned. Keeping it as original as possible. The frame has a lot of patina and the fabric is worn and stained only contributing to the original look and feel of this magnificent piece. Dimensions: Height:73-125cm Length: 167-210cm Width: 69cm Seat height: 53cm
