67 percent voted for Rebecca to speak out, while 33 percent of her 33.5K followers voted she should keep quiet, on the story she was regarding.

The allegations came to light again in the former footballer's docuseries, with Rebecca being inundated with cruel messages from online trolls.

Several commenters questioned if she had been lying about the affair, with one person writing: 'Nowhere have I seen an admittance that the story was true.'

Replying to the remark another commenter reasoned: 'if it wasn’t true then they would have sued for defamation,' prompting Rebecca to 'like' the remark and respond with a prayer hands emoji.

Ex reality personality Rebecca has been the target of some harsh criticism on social media, prompting her followers to send her some kind words.

One person wrote in her Instagram comments: 'Hope you're ok in light of everything sweetheart, and sincerely hope everyone is kind to you these days xxx,' with Rebecca responding with a simple love heart emoji.

Rebecca revealed she was trying to see the positive side of the negative remarks.

In the four-part series, Victoria admitted that the months after David's alleged affair were the 'hardest' of her life and said she no longer felt like the couple 'had each other'.

David also admitted he still doesn't know how they got through the crisis but said he and his former Spice Girl wife knew they had to 'fight for their family'.

He added that they felt like they were 'drowning' when their high-profile marriage was in the headlines for months.

The former England captain also said he 'felt physically sick every day' as he and Victoria faced a battle to save their marriage.

Victoria appeared to fight back tears as she was asked if it was the hardest time in their marriage. '100 per cent,' she said. 'It was the hardest period for us. Because it felt like the world was against us.

'Here's the thing, we were against each other, if I'm being completely honest. Up until Madrid, sometimes it felt like us against everybody else. But we were together, we were connected, we had each other.

'But when we were in Spain, it didn't really feel like we had each other either. And that's sad. I can't even begin to tell you how hard it was. And how it affected me.'

David stunned the world when his alleged relationship with Rebecca was revealed in the now defunct News Of The World newspaper.

Asked how their marriage survived, Beckham said he feared playing football while his wife struggled to find a way through their crisis.

Shaking his head, he said: 'I don't know how we got through it, in all honestly. Victoria is everything to me, to see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we're fighters and at that time we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family.

'And what we had was worth fighting for. There were some days that I would wake up and think, "How am I going to go to work? How am I going to walk on to that training pitch? How am I going to look as if nothing's wrong?" I felt physically sick every day when I opened my eyes.'

In an interview with Sky News, Rebecca claimed she had slept with David at least four times, saying: 'That was the night. September 18th... We had all been out with a group of people for dinner, having a few drinks and relaxing, there had been some flirting and I was getting a few innuendos but I kept saying: "No he doesn’t fancy you"...

'I would always say to myself "don’t risk your job" and I knew there was a huge risk involved if I got involved with this man... That night we just really hit it off. It was the first time, we were just locked into each other all night conversation-wise. We just connected. People noticed it.'
