Master Chief's own ride will be added to the upcoming racing game if you've previously played a Halo game on Xbox One.

The next-gen racing game Forza Horizon 3 went gone gold on Tuesday, and with the final game off to be pressed onto disc comes another surprise for rev heads: Halo's warthog, another Microsoft mainstay, will be making its way to the console-exclusive racing game.

The space-age off roader got a bit of a facelift to fit in alongside the stunning (but far more traditional) vehicle roster that Forza is known for.

To unlock the Warthog in game, you'll have needed to play either Halo 5 or Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One. You'll receive a download code via Xbox Live if you're eligible. If you never got around to Master Chief's adventures on Xbox One, you'll still be able to unlock it via a special #Forzathon event coming to Forza Horizon 3 in October.

While Australians might have issues with things like Byron Bay being south of both Sydney and Melbourne, or a section of the map being labelled "Outback" in Forza Horizon 3, one thing we can all agree on is that it's going to be fun tearing up Surfer's Paradise in a Warthog.

Forza Horizon 3 will be released on September 27 for Xbox One.
