Chromosomes
Campanula incurva resembles some species of sect. Quinqueloculares in habit and may related to this possibly artificial group. This rather isolated species may have evolved by reduction of the chromosome number from species with a diploid number of 34 chromosomes (in Campanula incurva 2n = 32!).2)

Flowers erect, axillary near the ends of brs., calyx with large, triangular appendages, corolla white to pale violet, to 2 in. long, campanulate.
