A tall, upright perennial to 120cm with the best coloured, deep purple flowers. The daisy-like flowers bring a great splash of colour to the garden in September to October. The 3cm wide flowers opening from shaggy flower buds, open to a cup shape and turn shaggy with age. The flowers are loved by late fllying bees and butterflies.
This Michaelmas daisy, previously also known as Aster, likes a well-cultivated, fertile soil in sun.
