Hey friends! Today, we're going to take a walk down memory lane and reminisce about one of the best cartoons to exist — Winx Club.
Now, if you're not familiar with this Italian-American fantasy series, it revolved around the adventures of a group of girls known as the Winx, who studied at the Alfea College for Fairies.
The core group was initially made up of Bloom (Fairy of the Dragon Flame), Stella (Fairy of the Shining Sun), Flora (Fairy of Nature), Tecna (Fairy Of Technology) and Musa (Fairy of Music).
Alongside them, you had the oh-so-dreamy specialists that studied at the Red Fountain School Of Specialists, like Sky, Brandon, Riven, Timmy and Helia.
As well as the teachers, who were lowkey great role models and were instrumental in a number of battles that raged on.
But, of course, every show needs a villain and in Winx Club it was three particular witches — Icy, Stormy and Darcy — who studied at Cloud Tower.
Together, they formed the Trix and wreaked havoc all across Magix.
Later, they also teamed up with Lord Darkar — aka the Shadow Phoenix — as well as Valtor to help both of them take control of the magical universe.
Okay, so we all remember the show now, right? But, why was it so good? Well, first off, it had one heck of a banger for a theme song. Seriously, I can still remember nearly every single word.
It also perfectly blended fantasy with comedy and friendship with romance in a high school setting.
Plus, it definitely had you hooked with that initial storyline of Bloom being this ordinary girl, who discovered that she was actually a fairy with extraordinary powers.
On a more important note, there was such an important and diverse range of characters, which, according to creator Iginio Straffi, was actually done so that "teenagers from all over the world [could] identity themselves with the characters they think they are most like".
From Stella, who was the fashionista and comedian of the group, to Flora, the sweet and motherly figure and Musa, the headstrong musician, there were a number of different personality types that existed in the core group, meaning there was always someone you could relate to.
Another thing that made Winx Club absolutely iconic was the different fairy forms, which were always accompanied by beautiful transformation scenes and killer outfits to boot.
Like, remember their Enchantix forms? I'm still not over how badass they looked.
Oh, and let's not forget their powers. I always loved the fight sequences.
Also, you're lying if you didn't fall in love with one of the Specialists and ~lusted~ over them.
I'm sure if I was to watch Winx Club now, it would be a bit cringe. But, back then, when I was a kid watching a new episode every morning, it meant everything to me.
And honestly, it'll always have a special place in my heart because it was such a big part of my childhood.
