Aerosmith announces rescheduled dates for farewell tour

The band will come home to Boston in December.

No need for cryin’, Aerosmith fans — they’re back.

The Boston rock band announced Wednesday that its “Peace Out” farewell tour will resuming in September. Aerosmith postponed the tour after frontman Steven Tyler sustained a vocal injury during a performance in early September.

“Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought,” the band wrote in an Instagram post last September. “His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care.”

“As a result, all the currently scheduled PEACE OUT shows must be postponed to sometime in 2024, with new dates to be announced as soon as we know more,” the post continued.

The tour will kick off Sept. 20 for a newly added show at Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena. Aerosmith will travel across the United States and make a couple stops in Canada before truly saying farewell Feb. 26 in Buffalo.

Aerosmith still plans to take on Boston at TD Garden on New Year’s Eve with special guest The Black Crowes after the postponement hit last year’s Dec. 31 performance. The band said the “special hometown show” will be a highlight of the tour, according to CBS News.

All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates, and tickets will go on sale for both the rescheduled and new dates on Friday at 10 a.m.
