Description: Holy Flashbacks, Batman! Featuring the voices of Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin (reprising their roles from the hit live-action TV series), these animated adventures of the Caped Crusader and Boy Wonder originally produced by animation powerhouse Filmation in 1977, are revered by generations of cartoon fans. With heroine Batgirl and zany sidekick Batmite, these brave Bat-heroes match wits with clever criminals like the Joker, the Penguin, Catwoman, Mr. Freeze and the cosmic uber-villain Zarbor!
-What elements did this come from, and what speed is it at? Most of the best surviving copies of Filmation’s catalog are PAL videotapes running at 25fps, with most of the 16mm, 35mm, and NTSC OG elements tossed.
-What team is working on it? Is it the WAC team, who cranked out the rather good Hanna Barbera set? (I’m mainly referring to the digipaint films in that set.) Or is it the WHV team that royally drops the ball as if it’s an Olympic sport?
-How is this being restored or remastered? Is it being restored or remastered at all?
It’s a tentative Day One, but my decision may change based on how exactly they’re going to do this.
As I understand it -- the exception to Filmation's masters problem are those original elements that reverted to rights holders before Hallmark allegedly destroyed them. This includes the DC Comics shows, Star Trek, Brady Kids etc. - Warner Bros, Paramount et al have their OCMS.
If I'm not mistaken, there wasn't many episodes of this? I just remember the episode when Sweet Tooth put sugar in the water supply to rot all the kids teeth out.
Sixteen 25 minute episodes seems like a lot to cram onto one disc. Since it is a normal Warner bros release that will probably mean lots of dnr and compression.
