This species is one of the TV's, Tillandsia/Vriesea species. It used to be called Vr. sagasteguii, but the name was changed to Tillandsia peruviana. I collected one plant in 1988 in Peru and have propagated from this one plant. The rosette has grey-white foliage with somewhat upright leaves. It produces a tall rose-pink colored cylindrical spike with light purple petals.
