Origin

Habitat

It grows on slopes and cliffs oriented preferably to the north, in the heart of the monteverde, although in its lower limit it can coexist with the more aggressive species of transitional thermophilic shrub, between 600 and 1100 m (Bañares et al., 2006)

Population data

According to the available data, it has 6 populations with about 4,500 specimens: La Carbonera Summit: 32 copies; Bajo de La Carbonera: 12 copies; Breakwater of Negrito. 878 copies; Enchereda: 3000 copies; Source of the Spider: 610 copies and Lomo de La Horca: 140 copies. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)
